The Doctrine of Hell Fire (Continued--Pg.4)

So while purporting to be beacons of light, propagating the truth, they are in fact “black holes” sucking the deceived into their vortex!  Woe to them!  Blind Guides, doubly dead, clouds without water, wandering stars, for whom the blackest darkness has been reserved forever!

So what do the Scriptures say about Hell Fire and Eternal Judgment?

In Matthew 25:41, Jesus tells us that “Then He will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’”  From this text it is very clear that the wicked are placed into eternal fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels.  The question then becomes, do beings experience this punishment forever?  We shall answer this question shortly.

But notice in verse 46, that “these will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”  The same Greek word (aionon) is used here in both cases as an adjective to describe the nature of existence after judgment.  If we say, as the annihilationist do, that the wicked do not exist once they are placed in eternal punishment, we can just as easily say that the righteous only experience eternal life briefly, just for a moment, but the life they are placed into is eternal?!?  As you can see this is pure nonsense, and no one in his right mind would advocate this idea, yet those who advocate annihilation are making this case for the wicked only.  This is called intellectual dishonesty, or better yet as Jesus would say—hypocrisy!

In Revelation 14 we find these words,

9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”
